Fleet Principal Engineer (M,FX)

Purpose of the job

The Fleet Principle Engineer supports the Engineering Manager to:

  •  Supervise on a daily basis the subcontracted and in-house Continuing Airworthiness Engineering activities in order to assure the Continuing Airworthiness requirements of the ASLB fleet are performed on-time and to the required standard and to improve on–time performance for our network
  •  Supervise various fleet changes/projects within the engineering department in order to obtain the optimal completion of the projects

Key Activities

  • Provide a point of contact for technical / airworthiness queries that arise in relation to the specific fleet / area, ensuring these queries are dealt with in a timely fashion
  •  Supervise the correct execution of the Support Agreement and correspondence Interface Procedures of subcontracted Continuing Airworthiness Tasks
  •  Supervise and co-ordinate activities with the Technical Service Engineers in their specific area to ensure a timely and accurate accomplishment of responsible tasks, either accomplishing these tasks directly or delegating, as required (Review of Airworthiness Directives, non-mandatory documentations, STC/modifications, Occurrence Reports…)
  •  Supervise and co-ordinate projects with the Technical Service Engineers (phase-in/-out, aircraft modification programs, standardisation programs)
  •  Supervise and co-ordinate the preparation of ARC files and follow-up actions of ARC findings
  •  Organise / attend internal and external meetings relating to the engineering / airworthiness support of the specific fleet / area and ensure adequate follow-up of identified improvement actions to improve on-time availability of the aircraft for the Global Air Network
  •  Develop work process improvements, best practices and advise on training and personnel development requirements
  •  Maintain competence on the basis of continued education and training in their area of responsibility. The company will facilitate this process
  •  Coordinate work with other operational groups and external organisations to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and operational efficiency
  •  Understand and practice the principles of the Company Safety Management System

RequirementQualifications

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  •  8 years’ experience with CAMO planning & engineering functions in an aviation environment
  • Experience in Continuing Airworthiness, Part-M/145/21 requirements and with the specific aircraft type(s) B737, B747 and B757 is an asset
  •  Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  •  Proficient in MS Office and relevant packages
  •  Experience related to detailed cost/benefit analysis of projects as well as effectively engaging crossfunctional stakeholders
  •  Able to demonstrate accuracy, analytical skills, and eagerness to improve
  •  Open minded, team player, developed communication skills with all levels in the Airline and with /Suppliers/MRO’s
  •  Ability to think, read/absorb and interest in the aviation technology/developments/innovations
  • Ability to function successfully in a pressure environment
  •  Work in an organized way to be able to meet set deadlines
  •  Negotiation and convincing skills

Terms And Conditions

  • Permanent contract
  • Full time job – Office hours but available to travel abroad from time to time as engineering representative during aircraft checks, to attend technical conferences and training
  •  Demand for personal flexibility and operational stress management
  •  Available for after office hours/during weekends to provide Engineering service support when
    required to the technical/maintenance operations and ensure the on-time availability of the aircraft.
