Flight Operations Engineer (M,F,X)


Support the Flight Operations Department in digitalizing its infrastructure and contribute to the e-enabling efforts of the airline.


  • Support the Flight Operations digital infrastructure and contribute to the operations e-enabling efforts
  •  Participate in the leading of any IT related project in the Flight Operations Department (Flight Operations Engineering, OCC)
  •  Ensure IT developments are made according to the current regulations (BCAA/EASA/ICAO)
  •  Work closely with ASLB IT Integration, IT Operations and IT Architecture team on upgrade project and major release management
  • Analyze the effectiveness and use of the various Flight Operations systems. Ensure the continuous improvement of critical processes
  •  Suggest professional and up-to-date improvements of the present Flight Operations systems
  •  Establish the root causes of application errors and escalating serious concerns to management and providers
  •  Review and optimize interaction between Aircraft systems and Ground Systems
  •  Participate in the development of new cost-effective aircraft communication methods such as 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, Satcom
  •  Oversee upgrades and maintenance of software applications related to flight applications (Sabre, Aviobook, etc) in order to streamline business processes
  •  Document processes and monitoring application performance
  •  Be a business partner interface for functional evolution analysis, gathering requirements and follow up actions and timeline
  •  Provide system administration of the EFB and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions
  •  Provide training on operational systems to technical and non-technical people
  •  Work as a back-up engineer for any flight operations support matter (Route analysis, Performance, Navigation, EFB, etc)
  •  Ensure that financial and operational objectives are met, by developing and maintaining a set of relevant and agreed Key Performance Indicators. Regular reports are being timely issued, departmental meetings are held and minutes are taken. Action plans agreed with set tasks and deadlines are communicated


  • Hi Higher Education or University Degree / preferably qualified in IT Sciences/Business/Aeronautical
  • Experience in the aviation industry in the field of Flight Dispatch, Avionics Engineering, EFB
    Administration, Aircraft IT or Flight Operations will be considered as an advantage
  • Strong IT background, ideally in Aircraft IT Information and Communication Technology, Mobile Network
    Management and Mobile Device Management
  •  IT Project management skills
  •  Ability to educate technical and non-technical audiences on various topics
  •  Coding experience would be considered as an advantage
  •  Master the MS Office Suite
  •  Technology oriented with in depth understanding of functional support
  •  Able to coordinate activity of the team and to align priorities and planning with technical team
  •  Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
