Junior Powerplant Engineer (M,F,X)
Challenge Airlines (BE) S.A. is a new airline based in Liege Airport (LGG) with a Belgian AOC. The airline operates daily scheduled cargo flights and charter services carrying nonstandard goods and general cargo internationally.
Job purpose
The Junior Powerplant Engineer is responsible, under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, for the on-wing powerplant (engines/APU) engineering activities on Challenge Group aircraft and is supporting Powerplant Lead on off-wing powerplant engineering activities. She/he focuses on providing Engineering support and expertise to the Group’s Technical Operations organization.
Your responsibilities
- Review OEM recommendations (e.g. SB, SIL, FTD, etc.) for feasibility & effectiveness and provide the Group with advice on implementation
- Provide input into preventative maintenance procedures and reliability improvements in the interest of safety, cost reduction, and fleet maintenance improvements
- Provide engineering support to MCC and Part-145 organizations in AOG situations, to minimize unplanned ground time
- Analyse Airworthiness Directives and mandatory requirements. Develop a compliance plan to ensure alignment with mandatory requirements
- Interact with OEM and vendors, local authorities, design or maintenance organizations on industry issues and trends
- Provide continuous improvement proposals to increase aircraft reliability, safety standards and working processes
- Take active role in AMOS integration and daily management for Engine/APU related aspects
- Monitor Oil Consumption and oversee Engine Trend Monitoring including borescope inspections
- Issue Technical documentation (LLP sheets, AD listing etc) for engine/APU shop visits and ad-hoc projects (e.g. aircraft phase in and out)
- Define Engine related maintenance procedures, support joint projects with Part-145 which are engines/APU related
- Assist sourcing team with material acquisitions
- Define strategy for Engine Change management (e.g. QEC plan)
- Assist Powerplant Lead for off-wing maintenance and commercial aspects
Your profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent
- Entry level accepted
- Knowledge of EASA/FAA regulations is an advantage but not required
- Knowledge of PW4000, CF6 and GE90 Engines is an advantage but not required
- Good team player, flexible, self-starter and proactive
- Good communication and analytical skills, rigorous and well organized
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools
- Fluent English required
